The College Loaf is a small artisan bakery located at Heath Farm, near Chipping Norton in West Oxfordshire.

Our breads are made using traditional methods, Shipton Mills organic flours, sea salt and spring water from the farm, plus the key ingredient - time - to produce flavourful, satisfying bread.

Specialising in regional breads from the British Isles, our range also includes a selection of favourite loaves from other baking traditions.

The bakery is rooted in the heritage of British craft baking, with a contemporary twist - in how we sell.

Changes at the College Loaf

As the eagle-eyed amongst you may notice, we are gradually changing our flours. As well as Shipton Mills organic, we will increasingly be using local flours produced by Wessex Mills in Wantage, which contain a high proportion of Oxfordshire-grown wheats in the grist and even specify which farms produced the grain! Along with North Aston Organics vegetables, North Aston Dairy's milk, butter from the Upper Norton Jersey Cream Company and Compass Brewery beers, we like to use as many locally produced ingredients as possible, many of which are available at Deddington Farmers' Market so why not join us at the next market on May 26th for bread and lots more!
